Derek has been directing, acting and writing for live theatre for more than 30 years. As Artistic Director for Lighthouse Festival for 14 years, Derek directed numerous world premieres for casts of all sizes. Derek is also the director of the Community Show which features incredible local talent who present the annual spring musical at Lighthouse. 

Derek will share his knowledge of directing for both professional and community stages, outlining the steps a director takes from auditions to opening night. This workshop is a wonderful introduction to directing live theatre for all levels of experience.
