Tucked into the heart of downtown Simcoe, Simcoe Little Theatre offers a warm, intimate setting perfectly suited for musical performances, special events, and meaningful gatherings. With seating for 114 guests—a thoughtful blend of floor and traditional theatre seating—the space creates a unique connection between performers and audience, making it ideal for emerging artists looking to build a following or established acts seeking a more personal experience. Rentals include box office support, front-of-house staffing to welcome your guests, bar service, and dedicated technical support, all delivered with the care and charm of a community-driven team. With ample nearby parking and a variety of excellent restaurants just steps away, Simcoe Little Theatre provides a seamless and inviting experience for both presenters and patrons alike.

Simcoe Little Theatre’s primary rental period spans from July through to early October.

General Information

Socan Fees

Simcoe Little Theatre is proud to play a role in supporting the success of Canadian musicians, as well as the Canadian music industry. All renters featuring musical performances will be required to have a SOCAN license and remit fees directly to SOCAN.

Credit Card Fees
A 3.5% fee per credit card and interac transaction will be calculated for all credit card and interac purchases. These fees will be deducted from the final statement.

Frequently Asked Questions

Am I expected to clean up after my event?

Yes, you must place all garbage and recycling in designated waste containers and remove all rental event materials from the building concluding the event. 

What happens if something of our guests is lost or stolen during the event?

The theatre is not responsible for any lost or stolen items. Any items that are found after the event, are placed in our Lost and Found, located in our Box Office. 

Is there a smoking area?

We are strictly a non-smoking facility. Any guests who wish to smoke must do so 15 feet from the building. 

Will Simcoe Little Theatre help to promote my event?

Simcoe Little Theatre will place one (1) printed poster (provided by renter) in the windows of the box office, include the event in one (1) upcoming events e-mail blast, include the event in one (1) upcoming events social media post, and list the rental event on the marquee sign for three (3) weeks prior to the event date. 

It is expected that the renter/promoter of the event will market and promote their own event. 

Can I sell my merchandise in the lobby before, during intermission and after my show?

Yes. You must provide your own staff and float to sell merchanidise. Simcoe Little Theatre staff or volunteers will not sell your merchandise. You will be provided with one (1) folding table to sell merchandise from. 
Simcoe Little Theatre does not take a percentage of merchandise sales and is not responsible for the security of your merchandise. 

Can I sell my own tickets

The price to sell your event tickets is included in the rental fee. For your patrons to have access to all our box office services and prevent overselling, Simcoe Little Theatre must sell all tickets. No personal or third party sales are permitted. 

Is there anyone on site to help with production issues?

Yes. Our technician will be onsite for the duration of your event and can address your concerns.

Can I bring my own technician

We encourage you to bring your own team, who will work with our technician on site. 

Please note that if you need a sound mixer, you will need to arrange this person. Simcoe Little Theatre does not provide sound mixers. 

Can I see the theatre before I book?

Yes, please contract the SLT Coordinator to arrange a walk-through

Do you provide Front of House staff to assist during our event?

Yes. Simcoe Little Theatre provides a House Manager, Box Office representative, ticket takers, ushers and bar tender for your event. 

Do I have to have the bar open?

No. You can indicate on the rental form if you would not like the bar to be open. 
You are not permitted to bring your own snacks or beverages (alcoholic or non-alcoholic) to sell. This is a licensed venue and all product must be purchased through the theatre license. 

All bar sales are retained by the venue.
