They oversee lighting, sound, costume and\/or set building requirements throughout the presenting season. They work closely with the Artistic Director, Producers and Directors. The Tech Team answers to the Producers. Producers in turn work with and answer to the Artistic Director. \u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Each Tech Team member will be responsible for at least one of the main stage productions (four Tech Team members per show) and work in tandem on guest events or special projects. Tech Team members will decide which shows they will each <\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u2018<\/span>tech<\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span><\/span>\u2019 <\/span>before the presenting season. \u00a0<\/span><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The Tech Team members are not responsible for day-to-day administrative operations or artistic direction. They are solely dedicated to what is technically presented on the SLT stage year-round.\u00a0<\/span> Both creative and open-minded, a successful Tech Team member is flexible and highly adaptable in a fast-paced environment. Assertive and proactive, they work well in groups and have excellent time-management skills. Above all, Tech Team members are resourceful and creative, can guide the theatre and its productions from start to finish and create quality results.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span> Ability to multi-task and process information efficiently\u00a0<\/span> Working knowledge or desire to learn technical programs (lights, sound)\u00a0<\/span> Comfort working with power tools\u00a0<\/span> Ability to communicate clearly\u00a0<\/span> Knowledge of theatre\u00a0<\/span> Ability to work flexible hours, under tight deadline pressure\u00a0<\/span> Ability to work within a group<\/span> The Tech Team is responsible for determining what resources will be needed and works to secure said resources within the established budget for the success of the main stage productions and special programming. \u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n Schedule Building<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n The Tech Team is responsible for setting the technical schedule, establishing regular production meetings and ensuring that all technical aspects of each project stays on schedule. This involves managing a variety of different groups and processes and requires careful attention to detail.\u00a0<\/span> The Tech Team will work in with the Artistic Director and Administrative Director in flagging and repairing any small building maintenance issues. All medium and large-scale building issues will be relayed to the Artistic Director and\/or the Administrative Director.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span>Volunteer Roles<\/h1>\n
– House Managers – Ensure that the patron’s experience is top level and support the other volunteers. House Managers are the lead volunteer on site for all performances.\u00a0
– Ticket Checkers – verify that all patrons have a valid ticket for that days performance
– Ushers – take patrons to their seats and offer them a program
– Lift Operator – assisting patrons with the use of the lift to get to the theatre level\u00a0
– 50\/50 Ticket Sellers – sell tickets for the very popular 50\/50. A winner at each performance.\u00a0<\/p>\n
